Everything You Need To Know About The Oshkosh Farmers Market

Ranked as one of the best 101 farmers markets in America for 5 years running, the Oshkosh Farmers Market is the place to go when you want a true taste of the town. You’ll find everything from Wisconsin grown fruits and vegetables to homemade jams and jellies to fresh-cut flowers.

The Who, What, & Where

For over 20 years, downtown Oshkosh has connected the community with local farmers and purveyors through the Oshkosh Farmers Market. During the summer and autumn months, the Farmers Market takes over Main Street every Saturday from 8 am to 12:30 pm. For the 2020 season, the market runs all the way from the beginning of June through the end of October. During the winter, you can still find a wide selection of local goodies on select Saturdays at the Menominee Nation Arena Oshkosh Convention Center.

Some of Our Favorite Vendors

Green Valley Acres:

Coming from right up the road in Neenah, Green Valley Acres brings a wide selection of seasonal produce and farm-fresh eggs. In August keep an eye out for their sweet corn. It makes the perfect addition to your summer bar-b-que.

Grandma Blake’s & Whispering Pines Farms:

One of the best souvenirs you can bring home with you from Oshkosh is a jar of berry jam from Whispering Pines Farms. The recipe has been passed down in the family and is the perfect addition to any breakfast.

Dalla Terra Pasta:

One of the most colorful vendors only sells pasta. Dalla Terra Pasta out of Appleton makes a large variety of homemade pasta from classic spaghetti and pappardelle to unique shapes like radiatori and orecchiette. Pick up some of their seasonal ravioli filled with pumpkin puree in the fall or fresh vegetable and cheese in the summer.

Thunderbird Bakery:

Your nose will lead you right up to the Thunderbird Bakery booth where a wide selection of delicate pastries and fresh-baked loaves of bread awaits you. Pick up a loaf to accompany a picnic board or a flaky croissant for a mid-morning treat.

Olden Organics

This 4th generation farm has mastered the art of farm-fresh produce. You’ll find everything you want (and more) at this stand. Large juicy tomatoes, peppers ranging from sweet to spicy, crisp cabbage, and aromatic melons are just a few of the gems you’ll want to bring home with you from Olden Organics.

COVID-19 Changes & Practices

There are a couple of modifications to the farmers market this year to promote safe social distancing and ensure everyone’s safety. There will not be any musical acts or special events to limit gatherings and only essential vendors are allowed. There will be a minimum of craft booths, soap and beauty product vendors, and community outreach programs at this time. Vendors will be more spaced apart than usual and have tape on the ground marking safe distances for making transactions and waiting. Visitors are asked to stay home if they are not feeling well and encouraged to wear a mask. There are also multiple hand washing and sanitizing stations dotted throughout the market.

This summer make a trip to the Oshkosh Farmers Market to fill up on picnic supplies, local produce, and all of the best items that Oshkosh has to offer. The market is filled with local restaurants serving up their most popular menu items so pick up a couple of staples from each for a fun lunch.
