UW-Oshkosh Homecoming Weekend

Fall is here and that means the biggest day of the year for UW Oshkosh is coming this October. Oshkosh will turn from a summer destination to a black-and-yellow spirited college town as students, families, and alumni gather for the annual Homecoming Weekend. While the highly anticipated homecoming football game is held on Saturday, October 19th, the entire week prior is filled with fun events, tours, tournaments, and of course, college spirit. To make sure that you don’t miss a second of the festivities, we’ve outlined every Titan event.

Students on campus will be busy starting on Sunday, October 13th with a week filled with events from window painting and hall decorating to spoons tournaments, talent shows, and comedy acts filling up every night of the week. By Friday night, the whole campus should be painted and colored with spirit.

On Friday, October 18th the UW Oshkosh Alumni Association hosts the Alumni Awards Celebration where distinguished alumni who have benefited their community, excelled in their career, and have made a difference are rewarded for their hard work. You can attend the event in the Culver Family Welcome Center or stream it live to see the bright minds coming out of UW Oshkosh.

After the alumni ceremony, the infamous Yell Like Hell and Lip Sync Event is sure to start the party. Different groups on campus will perform chants, cheers, and dance routines to get everyone excited for the big homecoming game on Saturday.

On Saturday, the 19th, activities will fill up the whole day with Titan spirit! Start off the day with a historic non-walking tour of the campus. This is a perfect event for alumni, students, and families to learn about the rich history behind the beautiful campus. If you would like to learn more about the campus from UWO archivist Joshua Ranger, then head to Reeve Room 307 at 10 am.

Immediately after the tour, the entire campus turns into game mode. Black and yellow gear will cover the campus and if you want to get into the spirit for the homecoming football game, then head to Reeve Union for the Titan Tailgate pregame celebration. Mingle with other UWO fans before heading over J.J Keller Field at Titan Stadium for the big game against UW Eau-Claire.

Cheer, yell, sing the Titan fight song, and enjoy the game starting at 1:30 pm. Not if, but when UWO wins, there will be a post-game celebration at Fox River Brewing Company’s Tap Room on the Waterfront. Grab a drink and eat some delicious food in a crowd of black and yellow Titans. If one football game just wasn’t enough to express all of your Titan Spirit, then head back to the stadium at 7:00 pm for the Soccer match against UW Eau Claire.

UW-Oshkosh is one of the most spirited days of the year. If you have a child attending UWO or are alumni of the college, then Homecoming Weekend is an absolute must. For a complete schedule, you can check out their official website or you can just follow the hoard of cheering, excitement-filled, black and yellow fans through the town to all of the major events!
