Tiffany at The Paine and the Oshkosh Plein Air Festival

Oshkosh Plein Air Festival 2018Art and outdoor lovers take note: the first annual Oshkosh Plein Air Festival is scheduled to take place in and around town August 16th through the 19th, 2018.

Plein Air?

“En plein air” is both a French phrase meaning “in the open air” and a painting style. Plein Air painting is done outside in one sitting, against the changing of the light. Plein air was an important part of the Impressionist movement during the mid-1800’s. Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro, and Claude Monet were notable practitioners of the style.

2018 Oshkosh Plein Air Festival

The first annual Oshkosh Plein Air Festival will see artists setting up their easels around town for four days. Come watch the artists work against the light to capture the best of the Oshkosh landscape.

There’s nothing quite like watching a work of art come to life before your eyes. Why not join in with your own easel and canvas?

The event ends with an artists reception and painting sale, where you’ll have the chance to meet the artists and purchase some of their work. Don’t miss this unique chance to own a piece of art you got to watch being created.
