The Ultimate Motorcycle Trip to Oshkosh, WI

Summer is almost here! Sunny days and warm nights are just around the corner and your bike is just waiting to get out. Take a trip to Oshkosh, Wisconsin and pass through some of the most beautiful regions of the midwest no matter where you’re coming from. Oshkosh is the perfect distance from Green Bay, Milwaukee, Madison, and La Crosse to make a fun weekend trip without campaigning for the Iron Butt Rally! 

 

Accommodations: 

You don’t want to saddle up with your gear every time you need to go somewhere, so you need a place to stay that is right in the middle of Oshkosh. The Brayton B&B is a block away from downtown so you can walk everywhere you want to go. They also have a driveway behind the inn that is the perfect place to park your bikes while you cozy up in the inn. 

 

Things to Do in Town: 

Oshkosh has something for everyone. If you are a history buff and love a good museum, the EAA Aviation Museum is unparalleled when it comes to interactive exhibits, mind-blowing displays, and the sheer size of the museum. Even if you aren’t interested in history or airplanes, you will be after a trip to this destination. If you like to eat, then you are in luck as Oshkosh has the most incredible assortment of restaurants in town. From fancy urban eateries to classic diners, breweries, and everything in between, you may have to grow another stomach to fit in all of the great food. If you like shopping, then just wander around downtown and you’ll find all sorts of goodies and gems inside the local stores. Motorcycle Day Trips Galore!

If you want to take a scenic drive and see some of the beautiful scenery around the town, then head out for the Lake Butte des Morts Loop. Starting in Oshkosh, head northwest on the Hwy S towards Butte Des Morris and hop over to Winneconne. After Winneconne, you’ll want to stay on Hwy 116 to Omro. After that, you can head over to Harbor Springs and walk the surreal Terrell Island loop, or follow Hwy 21 back to Oshkosh. This loop is about an hour of riding on gorgeous back roads, through charming towns and passing over some of the most picturesque bridges in the state. Along the way, you can stop at any of these towns for a quick bite, a short hike, or a little exploration of your choice. Green Bay’s Hidden Biker Bar: 

If you want to head to Green Bay and to catch a Packers game, check out the downtown, or grab some food, then make sure to hit the best-undiscovered biker bar in the state. Outer Limits Bar is on the outer limits of Green Bay and is a hub for bikers from all over. With frequent rides departing all week long and a great selection of beer and homemade foods, a trip to Outer Limits is the perfect spot to grab a bite on your tour. 

 

Feel the wind in your hair and glide along some of the most scenic roads in the midwest. Head over to Oshkosh for a quick weekend away, or stay a little while and see everything that this great town has to offer.
