Our Favorite Local Festivals

Though Oshkosh may be a small town, there is always something fun and exciting going on here. No matter what time of year you visit, you are likely to find a fantastic festival, unique event, or one-of-a-kind local happening that will give your trip that special Oshkosh touch. From marathons to musical performances, here are our six favorite festivals located in and around Oshkosh. Don’t forget to make the Brayton Bed & Breakfast your homebase during your stay!

Oshkosh Race Weekend
April

Lace up your athletic shoes and take a scenic run through the gorgeous Fox Valley this April. Oshkosh Race Weekend offers runners the options to participate in a marathon, half marathon, 5K, relay race, and even a kid-specific fun run. This flat course means the run is relatively easy and that many runners top their personal record! The races start at the Oshkosh Convention Center and pass through the historic Paine Art Center & Gardens, the Oshkosh Public Museum, and the beautiful Wiouwash State Trail.

Festival of Spring
May

Oshkosh’s lovely and historic Paine Art Center & Gardens is the perfect place to kick off spring here in Wisconsin. The main draw of this free outdoor event is the annual Spring Plant Sale, where you can stock up on a wide selection of perennials and thousands of other plants, including some hard-to-find varieties. The festival also boasts over 100 vendors selling original art, fine crafts, and gardening supplies. There will also be a food fair and live entertainment. The Paine Center’s gorgeous mansion and gardens are free during the festival, so this is also a great chance to explore the incredible art galleries, ornate interiors, and beautiful spring blooms.

Oshkosh Irish Fest
June

Celebrate all things Irish at the Oshkosh Irish Fest this June, where you can immerse yourself in traditional Irish food, beer, music, and culture. This joyful festival features live performances of traditional Irish music as well as dance performances by students at the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance. There will also be sheep herding demonstrations and showings of Irish dogs, from giant Wolfhounds to adorable terriers. All proceeds from the festival go to local nonprofits.

Country USA
June

If you are a fan of country music, then the Country USA festival is just right for you. This three day music and camping extravaganza happens June 27th-29th in Oshkosh. This years headliners include country superstars like Alabama, Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, and Trace Adkins as well as an impressive variety of up-and-comers.

Rock USA
July

Is rock more you’re thing? Than snatch up your tickets to Rock USA for three exciting days of non-stop rock and’ roll located at Ford Festival Park. At the festival, you’ll hear metal, grunge, punk, and all varieties of rock music. This year’s headliners include Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Marilyn Manson, Mastodon, and many more.

EAA Airventure
July

Now in its 50th year, the EAA Airventure is the largest annual gathering of aviation enthusiasts in the entire world. It has been nicknamed “aviation’s family reunion” because all the best aircraft get together for one iconic celebration! The 2019 air show will feature F-16 Viper and F-22 Raptor demonstration teams, heritage flights, daily air shows, live music, twilight flight fest, youth and young adult activities and so much more. This year’s major theme is “firefighting” and is brought to you with support from the U.S Forest Service and other aircraft operators and manufacturers.
