Oshkosh October Events

Oshkosh Docktoberfest: October 5th, 2019

Who doesn’t love an authentic Oktoberfest? The Oshkosh Docktoberfest held at the Dockside Tavern located right on the Fox River is one of the most festive Oktoberfests in the state. Music will be playing all day, ladies will be dressed in lovely dirndls and men in their finest lederhosen, and there will be plenty of food and beer to go around! This all day event is fun for the whole family with an ongoing itinerary of events spread through the entire day.

Start your day off with a 2K Bier run around Oshkosh’s Riverwalk or try your hand at the Wisconsin Cornhole Tourney, the states largest cornhole competition! From there the day gets better hour by hour with a costume contest, fish fry, stein holding contest, and ending with a frankfurter eating contest. Spend all day dancing and dining on traditional Bavarian food, or stop on by for your favorite activities.

New Horror Festival: October 11-13th, 2019

The Northeast Wisconsin (N.E.W) Horror Film Festival is the perfect lead in to Halloween. When the days get a little shorter and the leaves start falling, the scary movies start to come out. This festival showcases the best Wisconsin based horror films and art. Watch zombies and vampires, murders and monsters, haunted dolls and carnivorous bread (you’ll have to see) come to life over the entire weekend. Over 35 short indie films will play from 7:00 on Friday to 5:30 on Sunday. These films range from 10 minutes to an hour and will have you screaming, laughing, and on the edge of your seat. Tickets are $15 for the whole weekend or $8 for the day and all proceeds go to the Time Theater of Oshkosh.

Rodney Atkins at Menominee Nation Arena: October 24th, 2019

On October 24th country music will be echoing out of the Menominee Nation Arena in Oshkosh. Thousands of cowboy boots will be stompin’ and dancing along to Rodney Atkins with Drew Baldridge. Doors open at 6:30 and the concert is aimed to start at 7:30. Sing along to your favorite radio hits with the crowd! Located less than a mile from the inn, you can drive or even walk to the concert and stroll along the fox river on the walk back! Grab your tickets because this is one great show that you won’t want to miss!

October is a great time for events in Oshkosh, but honestly, this town is great all year round. Check out the great holiday events coming up later in the season, the concerts at the Menominee Arena all winter long, and the fun community events every weekend. There is always something happening in Oshkosh.
