Oshkosh Celebration Of Lights 2018

Oshkosh Celebration Of Lights 2018 It’s almost time for the 2018 Oshkosh Celebration Of Lights: an incredible holiday display of festive decorations and a half-million twinkling lights that stretch for over a mile through Menominee Park. November 23rd through December 31st, 2018 in Oshkosh, WI.

The annual Oshkosh Celebration of Lights is one of Wisconsin’s largest holiday light displays. If you’ve never had the pleasure of seeing it, I cannot recommend it enough. If you have, then you already know how wonderful an experience it can be.

Last year’s 1.2 miles of holiday sights and sounds attracted over 15,000 carloads of celebrants. They marveled at the 100 foot-tall Christmas tree, the more than 120 light-filled trees, the animated displays, and the colorful reflections of light on nearby Lake Winnebago.

Additions to this year’s show include several synchronized light displays, a Snack Shop, Elves’ Hideout, and children’s activity center. Further, you can tune your car radio to one of two local radio stations that will be taking turns broadcasting holiday music for your drive through the park. What fun! There will also be chances to meet live reindeer and take a carriage ride!

Carriage Rides

Enjoy an enchanting and memorable carriage ride through this year’s holiday light display. Carriage rides run every half-hour, with 6 rides available each night, from 6pm to 8:30pm.

Carriage Rides will be available: December 9th, 12th, 13th, 16th, 19th, and 20th. All rides need to be reserved and paid for in advance. Learn more here.

Special Event Nights

A number of special event nights are also on the schedule. Most are for a particular group, dedication, or tribute, such as Toys for Tots Night, December 7th.

Event nights of note include:
Opening Night – November 23, 5-9pm
Come watch them throw the switch to kick off Oshkosh Celebration of Lights 2018!

Race for the Light 5k – December 1, 4-7pm

All For A Good Cause

Perhaps best of all, it’s all for a good cause! Oshkosh Celebration of Lights collects food for the needy every evening it is open. Since 2001, the annual event has resulted in close to 150 tons of non-perishable food being donated to the needy in the Oshkosh area. Visitors to the park receive $1.00 off the normal cost of admission by donating non-perishable food items.
