Event Spotlight: Festival of Spring

The highlight of the spring event season in Oshkosh is the Festival of Spring at the Paine Art Center & Gardens. Held May 18th, this free outdoor event features the Paine’s annual Spring Plant Sale as well as food carts, family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and over 100 arts & crafts vendors. The Festival of Spring is a great chance to stock up on all your plant needs for the season while celebrating the warmer weather and colorful blooms with the local community.

During the festival, the Paine’s friendly and knowledgeable staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and assist you with making the perfect selections for your own garden. Known for having the widest selection of perennials in the Fox Valley, you’ll be able to pick up everything from classic garden staples to hard-to-find varieties. The Corner Market at the intersection of Elmwood and Congress Avenues, has countless amazing booths selling home decorating items, ethnic imports, jewelry, candles, paintings, garden supplies, and so much more. This is also where you’ll find the Festival’s food offerings, which include popcorn, hot dogs, burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, egg rolls, smoothies, ice cream, and coffee.

In addition, the Paine Art Center & Gardens will be open to the public during the Festival of Spring, making it the perfect opportunity to explore the Tudor Revival-style country state and its gorgeous, English-inspired gardens. During the spring, over 10,000 tulips will be in bloom on the grounds. Spend an afternoon roaming around their twenty lovely gardens and then take some time to explore indoors, where you’ll find breathtaking architecture and an unbelievable collection of art in their impressively curated galleries. The Paine Center is a local treasure, so we encourage you to use this opportunity to celebrate the joys of spring and explore this wonderful gem of the Oshkosh community. Best of all, the Paine Art Center & Gardens is located just five minutes down the road from the Brayton Bed & Breakfast, making it a must-do activity during your stay with us. We’ll see you there!
