Romanticism & Fantasy

Becoming romantic with life...
When it comes to fantasy, enchantment and romanticizing life with yourself or the ones your with it can begin with a soft awakening in the morning. A slow and deliberate way of becoming aware of the sunlight, the birds song echoing off the tall wooded trees, the smell of the morning air and the inevitable knowing that the day will bring something exciting and new to you...if only we can remain in a state of beginner's mind. Where we allow the universe to pleasantly surprise us with simple blessings, allowing ourselves the grace to not know exactly what the day brings and remaining positive that whatever it is will be a bestowment based on our previous helpful actions or good karma because we are all good intending people. Right? Am I right? I hope so...
As the innkeeper at the Braywood, I tend to allow these thoughts to pass through me on the daily. It opens my day up to the beginning. As I typically have breakfast every morning with a group of complete strangers, this allowance of being open to what you could never fully know begins to create the ability to to enchant, imagine, fantasize and manifest a life of surrender to what can be if our intentions are focused on simply being a good person. That reflection showing itself to us through other people becomes the romanticism we imagined. What a blessing this is!
I find a stable way of life having a structured base foundation essential, don't get me wrong...but allowing some space and time with in a busy schedule could be just the thing we all need to find balance and peace within. A small backyard organic garden wouldn't hurt this process either...and perhaps we have a nearby neighbor that has just the thing.
In all of our suites we offer our guests a journal for writing and drawing during their stay. Making the time to sit, relax and produce something in these journals becomes an exchange as the Innkeeper. I feel an excitement building, a potential to allow the surprise again from another stranger through another medium and another point in time of the day. Some of the entries in the journal are complete with coffee stains even. So romantic. It's not always about kissing in the Belle Suite or under the mistletoe, but we sure do enjoy allowing the space for these moments to unfold.
